Team Notes:
  • Wisconsin snapped a seven-game losing streak, its longest of the season, with the win against Purdue on Monday night. UW moves to 3-9 in Big Ten games and 5-7 in the Kohl Center.
  • The Badgers are now 2-2 on the Big Ten Network after beating Penn State earlier this season but falling to Minnesota and Florida.
  • Wisconsin is 1-0 in Monday games, competing in its first Monday night contest of the season.
  • The Badgers are now 3-6 when having three players score in double figures and 3-6 with the original lineup of Bauman, Cichy, Johnson, Whyte and Young.
  • The Badgers had their second individual player claim a double-double this season with Johnson's 19 points and 13 rebounds. The first came from Nicole Bauman against Nebraska when she scored 15 points and brought down 10 rebounds.
  • Purdue's 28 rebounds was the lowest amount of rebounds by any Badger opponent this season.
  • For the first time this Big Ten season, Wisconsin outrebounded an opponent, outboarding the Boilermakers 39-38, including 15-8 in offensive boards.
  • The Badgers forced the Boilermakers to opponent season lows in conference-only play in five separate categories. Purdue had opponent season lows in points (57), field goals made (22), field goals attempted (53), 3-point field goal percentage (27.3 percent) and rebounds (28).
  • Wisconsin outscored Purdue 34-24 in the paint, 20-15 off turnovers and 12-10 on second-chance baskets.
Individual Notes:
  • Senior Michala Johnson clinched her first double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds. It was the ninth double-double of her career and first double-figure rebounding game of the season. She has 10-plus rebounds in nine games of her career.
  • Johnson also had a season-high 16 field goal attempts and 13 rebounds. She has now led the team in scoring for the third time and in rebounding for the ninth time.
  • Senior Dakota Whyte was one of three players in double figures in addition to Johnson and Nicole Bauman. Bauman added 16 points while Whyte put up 14. Whyte has scored in double figures the last three games and for 17 times this season.
  • Whyte also had a season-high five rebounds. Freshman Roichelle Marble also set a new career high with four rebounds.
  • Bauman continued a nine-game double digit scoring streak, putting up double figures for the 19th time this season.
