
Relays with strong start in Women’s Big Ten Championships

Both the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay make podium on day one
MADISON, Wis. - The Women's Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships kicked off for the first time in Soderholm Family Aquatic Center today. The Badgers competed in two events that placed in the top five and are currently sitting in fifth place with 102 points.
The 200 medley relay started off the meet with a fifth-place finish. The relay of Mackenzie McConagha, Jenna Silvestri, Mallory Jump and Sophie Fiske finished in a time of 1:36.22.

To cap off the night, the 800 free relay team of Lillie Hosack, Abby Carlson, Mackenzie McConahga and Phoebe Bacon placed fourth overall coming in at 7:00.47.

Head Coach Yuri Suguiyama: "That was a really strong first night for the Badgers! To finish with 2 NCAA "A" cuts and two podium finishes has us feeling good about where the team is. Mackenzie, Jenna, Mallory, and Sophie put together a great 200 Medley Relay and Lillie Hosack led off with a lifetime best time in the 800 Free Relay. On to Day 2!!!"
