Daryl Watts named First Team All-American

Senior earns third career first-team honor and fourth career All-America nod
MADISON, Wis.— For the second year in a row, Wisconsin women's hockey senior Daryl Watts has been named a First Team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association, the group announced on Thursday.Â
The Toronto, Ontario native had a stellar season, leading the Badgers in goals, shots and points. With 57 goals this season, Watts finished her collegiate career with 297 points. That is the second-most career points in NCAA history. She also finished her career fifth in the NCAA for career goals with 136 and fourth in the NCAA for career assists with 161.
This season she was named WCHA Preseason Player of the Year, earned WCHA Forward of the Week three times, was named All-WCHA First Team and was a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.
This season, Watts put up 57 points in 38 games while her 209 shots rank third in the country.Â
She leaves Wisconsin as the program's leader in points per game with a 1.78 clip. Despite playing only three seasons in Madison, one of which was shortened due to COVID-19, Watts ranks ninth in assists with 94, 10th in points with 167 and 10th in goals with 71.
Watts was named First Team in 2018 and 2021 and Second Team in 2020.
