Three-time Badger captain, current Director of Operations recognized for her achievements
MADISON, Wis. – Current Wisconsin women's hockey Director of Operations/Equipment Manager and three-time captain Sis Paulsen will be inducted into the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame this fall, the organization announced on Wednesday.Â
Paulsen, who just finished her sixth season on the Badger bench, is one of three members of this year's class, joining Karyn Bye-Dietz and Terry Watkins. The trio will be inducted on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame in Eagle River, Wisconsin.Â
A native of Eau Claire, Paulsen was a part of the Badgers' first freshman class in the 1999-2000 season and posted 44 points, which still is the most by a rookie defender in school history. The only player to serve as UW's captain for three seasons, Paulsen collected 130 points from the blueline, which is also a school record.Â
Following her playing career, Paulsen coached a variety of teams, including Bemidji State, Minnesota State and the New York Riveters before stepping into the equipment manager/director of operations role at Wisconsin in 2017.Â
Paulsen has served her country at the highest level, as she was the equipment manager for the U.S. women's hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. She also was the equipment manager for Team USA at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 IIHF Women's World Championships.Â
