Seventeen Badgers taking part in NHL development camps

Eleven of UW’s 13 drafted players attended camps
MADISON, Wis. – A total of 17 Wisconsin men's hockey players earned invitations to 13 different NHL development camps this summer, where players get on- and off-ice instruction on how to be a professional hockey player. That includes training, nutrition and lifestyle tips, as well as general expectations with the professional ranks.
Attendees include prospects drafted by NHL teams and free agents with professional aspirations. Among that list are three Badgers recently drafted in the 2023 NHL draft including Minnesota Wild pick Charlie Stramel, Columbus Blue Jackets' forward William Whitelaw and Detroit Red Wings defenseman Brady Cleveland.

The Badgers are expected to have 13 NHL draft picks on their roster this season
Eleven of the 13 NHL draft picks on UW's expected roster for the coming school year were set to attend camps. The two players not attending are New York Islanders draft picks, a franchise not holding a development camp this year.
