MADISON, Wis. – Kim Kuzma, a junior on the University of Wisconsin volleyball team, was named the starting libero for the PrepVolleyball.com Team of the Decade.
Early in November, PrepVolleyball.com began soliciting input for its Team of the Decade. The organization asked high school coaches, club coaches and directors and college coaches to help in chosing the top prep players of the 2000s. In order to be selected to the team, a player had to have played at least one high school season and one club season this decade. College achievements do not count and for defenders, they must have played back row in either high school or club.
After receiving nominations, two rounds of voting were conducting to choose the all-decade team, which consists of three outsides, two right sides, three middles, two setters and three defenders

LIBERO:
Kim Kuzma, 5-6, Central (Muncie, Ind.), Munciana, Wisconsin
A high school hitter, Kuzma led the Bearcats to the Indiana 4A Final Four in all four of her years, including a state title in 2004. A three-time all state performer known for her athletic and acrobatic defense, Kuzma played some front row and some back row for her Munciana club team, but made her name as the starting libero on the 2004 and 2005 USA Youth National Teams. In 2004, when the YNT won the NORCECA championship, Kuzma made the all-tournament team and was named best serve receiver. Wisconsin head coach Pete Waite described the ultra-competitive Kuz as a “driven and passionate player who would not be denied defensively.”
