MADISON, Wis. – The road to the 2018 Winter Olympics is running through St. Paul, Minnesota as the U.S. women's national hockey team takes on the Canadian national squad at 3 p.m. on Sunday in an exhibition contest that can be seen live on NBCSN.

Current Wisconsin senior Annie Pankowski and former Badgers Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Hillary Knight and Alex Rigsby will suit up for the Americans at the XCEL Energy Center while former UW skaters Ann-Renee Desbiens, Meaghan Mikkelson, Sarah Nurse and Blayre Turnbull, and present senior Emily Clark will don the maple leaf for Hockey Canada.

The game marks the third of a six-game stint between the two countries ahead of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. The series is currently split 1-1.

The Americans claimed the series opener after downing the Canadians 5-2 in Quebec City, Que. Knight, Decker and Pankowski each recorded goals in the win, and Desbiens posted a .792 save percentage in the net for the Canadians.

Hockey Canada responded three days later with a 5-1 routing of the United States. Eight Badgers saw action on the ice and Mikkelson notched an assist in the win.

The two teams most recently met in the 2017 Four Nations Cup in Tampa, Florida as the U.S. claimed the title in the final tournament before the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Following Sunday's game, the U.S. and Canada will meet three more times in December, including a showdown in Winnipeg on Tuesday night.
