Wisconsin Head Coach Greg Gard

Opening statement:
"I'm pleased with the effort and it's good to get back home and play better, take care of the ball, defend better, make shots, and do all those things that go into having success. Proud of how our guys played and how hard they played, things we will continue to work at and will continue to get better at, but I thought things defensively were more consistent, I thought we were more consistent on the offensive end and had a lot of guys step up and give us contributions which was good to see."

Wisconsin Junior Forward Ethan Happ

On handing Illinois pressure defense:
"The biggest thing Coach (Gard) really stressed before the game was to just have poise."

On what he liked most about the game result:
"I like what we were doing on defense… not allowing a lot of points, not allowing second-chance opportunities, but the biggest thing is we played as a unit tonight, it wasn't one guy trying to do it all themselves, it was one more pass and that's how we need to play."

Wisconsin Sophomore Brevin Pritzl

On the importance of the victory:
"It's important for us to get back to the way we play basketball, taking care of the ball, knocking down open shots, making the right play. Today was a great game for that with the way they pressured and allowed us to really move the ball and start playing with each other and really start to get our feel back."
