GANGNEUNG, South Korea – Pool play is over and every game from now on at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games will advance a country closer to its gold medal goal.
That begins tonight for head coach
Tony Granato, assistant coach Chris Chelios and Team USA when they skate in a rematch against Slovakia. The teams meet at 9:10 p.m. CT in PyeongChang, South Korea.

The United States ended Group B play tied for second with four points, placing third after the tie-breakers. The Americans fell 3-2 in overtime to Slovenia on Feb. 14, before defeating Slovakia, 2-1, on Feb. 16. The U.S. ended group play with a 4-0 loss to the Olympic Athletes from Russia on Saturday.
When Team USA beat Slovakia in pool play, Ryan Donato scored both goals for the U.S., which outshot the Slovaks, 31-22.
This time, the winner of the U.S.-Slovakia game will advance to the quarterfinals to meet the Czech Republic on Tuesday at 9:10 p.m. CT.
For Team Canada, former Badger Rene Bourque leads the squad and is tied for third among all players with three goals, one off the tourney lead.
Team Canada finished second in Group A with seven points. Bourque scored two goals to lead Canada over Switzerland, 5-1, to open Olympic play on Feb. 15, then scored a goal in Canada's 3-2 shootout loss to the Czech Republic on Feb. 17. Team Canada beat host South Korea, 4-0, on Sunday to finish second in the pool, advancing to quarterfinal play as the top second-place team.
On defense, former Badger Cody Goloubef has accumulated four shots on net and four penalty minutes, while Bourque scored his three goals off 11 shots on net at forward.
