- Three-time cross country All-American (2003, 2004, 2005)
- 11-time All-American in track
- Former American record holder in the 10,000 meters, becoming the first non-African to break 27-minute barrier in 10K
- Runner-up in the 5000 at the 2009 USA Outdoor Championships
- Runner-up in the 3000 at the 2008 USA Indoor Championships
