Hired three cross country coaches who all won at least one NCAA National Team Championship
During his head coaching tenure, the cross country and track programs produced 52 Big Ten team titles, 26 cross country, and 26 track and field
Coach six Olympians, 11 NCAA Individual Champions, and 165 Big Ten Individual Champions
Led Wisconsin to 10 'Big Ten Crowns' by sweeping the cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track Team Championships in an academic year
Wisconisn earned 19 Academic All-America Honors and 291 Academic All-Big Ten Selections during tenure
Won 22 Big Ten Coach of the Year Honors, 11 Regional Honors, and was named the US Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2007
Inducted into the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2014
