Held the UW records in the indoor and outdoor 440-yard dash for more than 20 years
Big Ten indoor champion in the mile relay, 1962
Member of the 1962 Big Ten Indoor championship team; Badgers also finished second at the 1964 Big Ten Indoor meet
Big Ten outdoor champion in the 440-yard dash in 1963
All-American 1963, finishing fifth in the 440-yard dash
Big Ten indoor champion in the 440-yard dash in 1964
Inducted into the Chicago Association of Realtors Hall of Fame in 2000, the only African-American to receive that honor
Endowed the Higginbottom Urgent Care for Kids Unit at Mercy Hospital in 2004
Named to Crain’s Chicago Business list of “Who’s Who in Real Estate” in 2005
Co-founded Friends of Track and Field in 2006
Board member for After School Matters in Chicago
