  • 1976 Olympian – bronze medalist in the eight (first Olympics with women’s rowing), becoming one of the first three Badger women to win an Olympic medal
  • Member of the 1975 national championship varsity eight
  • Stroked the varsity eight to 1976 Eastern Sprints Championship
  • Member of the 1975 and 1976 U.S. National team
  • Won a gold medal at the Head of the Charles with Vesper Boat Club in 1977
  • Elected to the U.S. Olympic Women’s Rowing Committee for four years
  • Returned to rowing in 1996 and competed in the Masters national, international and world competitions
  • Won 18 gold medals at national, internal and world regattas from 1996-2007, including four World Championships
  • Spent 10 years on the Board of Directors for the Head of the Charles
  • Founder of the Lake Purdy Rowing Association in Birmingham, Alabama
  • Inducted into the Madison Sports Hall of Fame in 2015
  • Inducted into the USRowing Hall of Fame in 2016
  • Inducted into the International Rowing Foundation Hall of Fame in 2016
  • Inducted into the Madison East High School Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017
