  • UW men's golf coach from 1952-70
  • Coached the Badgers to the 1957 Big Ten Championship, the first in program history
  • Coach three Big Ten medalists -- 1952, 1955 and 1963
  • Guided the Badgers to seven NCAA Championship appearances; also had one individual compete in the championship
  • Career record of 171-81-5 (.675) in 18 years
  • For more than 36 years, he worked tirelessly on every phase of the Wisconsin golf course project. One of his happiest days was seeing his dream come true with the opening of the University Ridge Golf Course in 1991
  • Instrumental in the founding of the National W Club in 1948
  • President of the Wisconsin Alumni Association in 1951
  • Director of the National Alumni Association from 1951-53
  • Graduated from Wisconsin with a degree in economics and political science in 1938
