2023 USTFCCCA Hall of Fame inductee
Men’s Cross Country coach from 1983-1997
Two-time NCAA Coach of the Year and six-time Big Ten Coach of the Year
Coached the Badgers to two NCAA Championships (1985 and 1988)
Wisconsin qualified for the NCAA Championships in all 15 years of his coaching career, recording 12 top-10 finishes
Led UW to 12 Big Ten conference championships and ten NCAA Great Lakes Regional titles
Coached four NCAA champions and 31 Big Ten champions in track
Trained four Big Ten individual champions and 35 First Team All-Big Ten honorees in cross country
A total of 33 cross country and 45 track athletes earned All-America honors under his tutelage
