1953, 54 State of Wisconsin Gold Gloves Champion
Named the Badgers’ Fightingest Fighter in 1955
1956 NCAA Champion at 139 pounds
Aided the Badgers to the 1956 NCAA Championship
Competed in the 1956 U.S. Olympic Trials
Boxed professionally in New York and Midwest after graduation
Co-Founder of Baby Joe Gan’s Foundation in 1984, providing scholarships and helping inner city youth boxers keep their gyms and provide equipment for the kids
A member of the Wisconsin Boxing Advisory Committee and member of the Board of Trustees of the Milwaukee Eagles Club
1981-2006 professional referee
Inducted into the UW Boxing Wall of Fame in 1981
Started boxing at the age of 12
