Tom Grantham

- One of three individuals who, in 1981, came up with the idea for the Crazylegs Classic race and received permission from then-athletic director Elroy Hirsch to use his name for the race
- Since the Crazylegs Classic began in 1982, the participation numbers and money raised for the athletic department has increased exponentially and the race is a treasured tradition of spring in the Madison community
- Served as the Crazylegs Classic general chairman for 35 years
- Runner's World magazine has rated the Crazylegs Classic as one of America's Best 100 Events
- Serves as First Vice President - Wealth Management, Senior Financial Advisor, and a founding Partner in the Grantham/Heinrichs Group at Merrill Lynch for over 40 years
- Holds a bachelor's degree from Wisconsin and was a member of the 1960 Rose Bowl Team
- High school and collegiate football official
- Was First Lieutenant of the United States Marine Corps
- Past board member of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, UW Children's Hospital and UW Alumni Association Board of Directors as well as past chairman of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra
- Current member of the UW Health Orthopedic Foundation, Mendota Gridiron Club and Downtown Rotary Club
