The Wisconsin women's openweight crew won both the openweight eight and novice openweight eight at the Head of the Iowa on Sunday, completing its fall schedule in fine fashion.
The Badgers' top boat in the openweight eight raced to a 14:12 in windy conditions to take the title. Wisconsin beat second-place Minnesota, third-place Kansas State and fourth-place Iowa for the title. Wisconsin entered two other boats in the race with its "C" boat taking sixth in 14:50 and its "B" boat in 14:50.
The Badger novice eight took three of the top four spots including the title. Bucky raced to a 16:47 as the first-place crew. Wisconsin boats sandwiched third-place Minnesota in second and fourth.
Wisconsin is now off from competition until the spring season begins in early 2002.
