A former member of the United States National Team, Hansen is in his fourth year as the Badgers' head coach. He also recently completed an off-season stint as head coach of the U.S. men's team at the 2002 FINA Short Course World Championships in Moscow, April 3-7, 2002.
In three years at Wisconsin, Hansen has led the women's program to three top-20 NCAA finishes and has revitalized the men's program, taking it from 33rd in the nation to two consecutive top-20 finishes.
Both men's and women's programs are 3-0 this season after wins over UW-Stevens Point, Toledo and Iowa. On Tuesday, Carly Piper and James Wike were named Big Ten Swimmers of the Week. This Friday and Saturday, the Badgers travel to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Arizona Triangular.
