Captains' Log for December, 2002

This fall Wisconsin Women's Rowing reached a new level of unity. Upon combining the openweight and lightweight teams, we launched the Fall 2002 season with the Milwaukee River Challenge Regatta where we competed in mixed lineups.
As the season progressed having spent numerous practices in small boats and solidifying lineups the open weights competed in the Head of the Rock, the head of the Charles and the Head of the Iowa where we placed 1st, 15th, and 2nd respectively. We entered the winter season determined to develop our strength and endurance through weight lifting and erging. With the holiday season fast approaching, the team is looking forward to our annual training trip in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Captains' Log is a periodic submission by UW openweight captains, Marianna Waters and Elpi Pagitsas. Both senior co-captains have rowed varsity several years. Waters is a Polish and international relations major and Pagitsas is an English major.
