Trio to Sit Out
December 27, 2003 | Men's Hockey
Three Badger hockey players have been suspended from game action for violations of team rules.
Junior goaltender Bernd Bruckler will be suspended from both games of this weekend's Badger Hockey Showdown, while sophomore center Brent Gibson and freshman forward Robbie Earl will sit out the tourney opener vs. Union Saturday. The suspensions are a result of independent incidents.
Bruckler, the club's top goaltender, has registered a 9-3-4 mark with a 2.31 goals-against average this season. Gibson has not scored in four appearances, while Earl is fourth on the squad with 12 points and second in goals scored (six).
Troy Ward, who is coaching the Badgers while Head Coach Mike Eaves is leading the U.S. team at the World Junior Championships in Finland, made the decisions in consultation with Eaves.
