Hansen to Enter Iowa State Hall of Fame

University of Wisconsin men's and women's swimming head coach Eric Hansen will be inducted into the 2004 Iowa State Hall of Fame this Friday in Ames, Iowa.
Hansen, who graduated from Iowa State in 1988, will be formally inducted at a banquet held Friday evening at the Hotel at Gateway Center. He then will be honored at halftime of the Cyclones football game on Saturday.
'I had a great athletic career at Iowa State and was really happy about what I accomplished, but I never thought I would be honored this way,' Hansen said. 'It's amazing to be inducted with such other great athletes. '
A two-time Big 8 Swimmer of the Year (1987-88) and an Iowa State Athlete of the Year (1988), Hansen will join nine others in the 2004 class, including All-American wrestlers Les Anderson and Tom Peckham.
