We didn't anticipate last week happening as it did. Although we beat Loyola of Chicago 3-0, we didn't have the same spark that we did against Penn State and Ohio State the weekend prior, but were nonetheless still excited about the win. On Sunday, we came out with a positive attitude and with every intention to win, but the spark still was not shining as strong as we wanted. As a result, we lost to the University of Illinois.
While our performance was not what we had hoped and practiced toward, we are all beginning to realize that we only have five games left and we need to play at that next level in order to extend our season.
This week of practice is going to be vital to keep our season alive. These next two games will decide whether or not we have a chance to get into the Big Ten Tournament. The team wants it so badly! The disappointment on our faces when we lose and the excitement when we win is obvious'we all want to win.
But what outsiders, meaning fans and others alike, don't always see is the determination that we all have burning deep inside of us. We are determined not only to win the games ahead of us because they are so important, but also to get into the Big Ten Tournament, see some positive results and qualify for the NCAAs.
These are some lofty goals, but each of us believes they can be achieved. We need to bring everything we have not only for ourselves and our teammates, but for our six seniors who will only have five games remaining if we don't leave everything on the field and get some results.
'A lot of futbol success is in the mind. You must believe you are the best and then make sure that you are.'
It's time to bring everything we have and kick some Michigan and Michigan State butt!!!
