The Wisconsin men's hockey team (4-6-2, 4-4-2 WCHA) looks to extend its five-game unbeaten streak this weekend in St. Cloud, Minnesota when it faces St. Cloud State (7-4-0, 2-3-0 WCHA) at the National Hockey Center.
The Badgers recently returned from Minnesota where they played a set against Minnesota Duluth last weekend, tallying a 3-3 tie on Friday, Nov. 14 and winning 4-1 on Saturday, Nov. 15.
The Huskies are coming off a successful weekend competing against the Denver Pioneers at home. SCSU topped the Pioneers 4-2 on Friday, Nov. 14 and 2-1 on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the National Hockey Center.
Wisconsin and SCSU have faced off 70 times before altogether. The last time the two teams played in the regular season was Feb. 29-March 1, 2008. The teams split the series, with Wisconsin earning the 2-1 advantage on Friday night while the Huskies beat out the Badgers 3-2 on Saturday night.
Most recently, the Badgers took on the Huskies in St. Cloud on March 14-15, 2008 in the WCHA Playoffs. Wisconsin dropped both games to the Huskies, losing 3-0 and 4-3 respectively.
Overall, the Badgers are 8-3-2 against the Huskies in the Bob Motzko era and 13-6-4 with Mike Eaves at the helm for the Badgers.
