
Nosbusch, Jacobsen named to 2008 Big Ten All-Freshman Team

The Big Ten Conference named Wisconsin freshmen Laurie Nosbusch and Erin Jacobsen to its 2008 Women's Soccer All-Freshman Team in honor of their outstanding performances and contributions this season.
Nosbush closed out the 2008 campaign as the Badgers' leading scorer with 20 points, tallying seven goals, six assists and 58 shots ' 29 on goal ' throughout the season. Jacobsen ended the season with 12 points, including four goals and four assists, to be the third leading scorer for Wisconsin in 2008.
The Badgers went 9-9-1 overall this season, an improvement over their 6-11-1 record in 2007. Wisconsin was also only one win away from the chance to compete in the 2008 Big Ten tournament.
Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan State are the only three teams with two representatives on the 2008 Women's Soccer All-Freshman Team. Penn State, Minnesota, Purdue, Northwestern, Ohio State, Indiana and Michigan each have one freshman on the team.
Sophomore Darcy Riley also garnered Big Ten honors to close out the season, winning the Sportsmanship Award for Wisconsin.
