MADISON, Wis. - After Wisconsin had two come-from-behind ties against Big Ten co-leaders last week, the Big Ten Conference has recognized Badgers Laurie Nosbusch and Monica Lam-Feist.
Nosbusch was named the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week with Katie Schoepfer of Penn State, while Lam-Feist claimed Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Both Nosbusch and Lam-Feist made the difference in Friday's 1-1 draw against 19th-ranked Ohio State. With only 18 seconds left in regulation, Nosbusch slid the ball to Lam-Feist, who scored her first collegiate goal to force overtime.
Two days later, Nosbusch and Lam-Feist would pair up again to help the Badgers overcome a two-goal deficit. On Sunday, the roles were reversed as Nosbusch headed in the game-tying goal off a cross from Lam-Feist, helping the Badgers snap a five-game losing streak to Penn State in a 3-3 draw.
Nosbusch, who currently leads the team in goals (6) and points (15), also registered an assist on the Badgers' first goal of the game against the Nittany Lions. Nosbusch has scored at least one point in each of the past four games.
The honors mark the second of the season for both Nosbusch and Lam-Feist.
Wisconsin is now in sole possession of third place as the Badgers prepare for a three-game road swing to conclude the regular season. The Badgers look to improve on their four-game unbeaten streak when they visit Michigan State and Michigan this weekend.
