
The National W Club presents the Buckinghams

MADISON, Wis. – The National W Club presents the Buckinghams, a student-athlete annual showcase of excellence. Wisconsin student-athletes will be recognized for their academic achievements and some student-athletes will showcase talents outside of the sports arena.
The formal event will take place at the Overture Center on April 19, 2010 and will include performances by various student-athletes. The Buckinghams is closed to the public but can be seen online on UWBadgers.com. The event is opened to all the student-athletes, coaches and athletic department personnel.
Watch last year’s event which included performances by Elijah Hodge, Anna Chang, Amy Lewis, O’Brien Schofield and Alannah McCready. The evening was emceed by Matt Lepay and concluded honoring the male and female student-athletes of the year, Jessie Vetter (women’s hockey) and Ed Newman (men’s rowing).
Lepay will return to emcee this year’s Buckinghams and will include performances from some softball players, the football team and the dance team along with other individual performances from McCready, John Rzepka and Anya Covington. AJ Fenton and Sam Dehn will also pair up for a performance.
