
Breaking the ice with Jake McCabe

MADISON, Wis. -- With the first game of the men’s hockey season just three weeks away, we begin to look at the newest members of the Badgers, by getting to know their likes, dislikes and personalities a little better.
We continue this week with defenseman Jake McCabe: McCabe joins the Badgers after spending two years with the U.S. National Team Development Program. The Eau Claire, Wis. native won gold with Team USA at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 World Championships, while collecting four goals and 16 points in 46 games played with the U.S. National Under-18 Team in 2010-’11. McCabe also took home a title with Team USA at the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. In his freshman year at Eau Claire Memorial High School, McCabe collected 22 points in 23 games. Jake’s brother Andrew plays hockey for UW- Eau Claire.
