MADISON, Wis. -- With the 2015-16 Wisconsin women's hockey season starting on Friday, UWBadgers.com goes beyond the masks to introduce fans to the three newest Badgers by breaking down some of their off-ice likes, dislikes, and quirks.

The final player in our series is Wayzata, Minnesota native Sophia Shaver.

Shaver, the only right-hander in the freshman class, played for the Wayzata high school girls' team, tallied 25 points in 19 games her senior year, earning her a spot on the Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award finalist list. Shaver also has experience playing for the United States, tallying one goal and two assists at the 2015 IIHF U-18 World Championships, capturing gold alongside fellow freshman Mikaela Gardner. She also notched two assists for the U.S. U-18 team during its series against Canada in 2014.

Shaver will wear number 12 this season, and is the only Minnesotan on the Badgers' roster. One of Shaver's role models is former Badger Hilary Knight.
