One-of-a-kind columnist brought readers a unique view of Badgers
Â
MADISON, Wis. — During the lean years of the late 1960s, when crowds were sparse, it was referred to as "Roundy's folly." Now, it's all but impossible to image Camp Randall Stadium without the upper deck that towers over the west sideline.
Increasing Camp Randall's capacity was one of the opinions Wisconsin State Journal columnist "Roundy" Coughlin was more than happy to share with his readers – in his own unique style, of course.
The one-of-a-kind writer held a special place in his heart for his hometown of Madison and its hometown team, the Wisconsin Badgers.
