Wisconsin records 20 shots in double OT match
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's soccer battled Ohio State to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night at the McClimon Soccer Complex.
The Badgers (8-4-5, 3-3-3) notched seven shots in the first half, including one shot on goal, while Ohio State (8-7-2, 3-4-2) had four. Each team received two corner kick opportunities. The Badgers also took the only shot on goal.
Wisconsin continued to battle in the second half, but neither team was able to crack the 0-0 tie. The Badgers outshot Ohio State 7-2 to bring the total to 14-5. Both teams were awarded three more corner kicks for five total at the end of regulation heading into the first overtime period.
Both teams took two shots in the first extra period and the Badgers received the lone corner kick. Goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer made a diving save to keep the match scoreless.
Shots in the second overtime period were 4-0 Wisconsin. Ohio State also had one corner kick opportunity.
