Badgers face Yale in first tournament match in Milwaukee on Tuesday

MADISON, Wis. — The Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off is finally here! The Badgers kick off the tournament with a matchup against Yale on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The winner will go on to face either Providence or Bowling Green in the tournament championship the next day.

Rosters: Wisconsin || Yale

1 - BADGER HOCKEY IN MILWAUKEE: While the Badgers call Madison home, they have quite a bit of history in Milwaukee— including their most recent national title. The Badgers reigned victorious over Boston College in the 2006 NCAA championship held at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

The Bradley Center also hosted the Badger Hockey Showdown from 1989 to 2002 before the tournament moved to the Kohl Center. The Badgers went 19-8-1 during the 28 games of the Badger Hockey Showdown in Milwaukee.

Including the Badger Hockey Showdown, the NCAA tournament, College Hockey Showdown, WCHA tournaments and regular-season games, Wisconsin boasts a 29-18-3 all-time record for games in Milwaukee.

2 - TOO HOT TO BANTLE: Sophomore transfer forward Carson Bantle netted two goals against Penn State for his first multi-goal game of his career the Badgers' last time out. The Arizona draft pick's tallies helped the Badgers battle back from a 4-1 deficit to force overtime.

3 - THREE GO FOR FOUR: Three Badgers had themselves a four-point series against Penn State. Tarek Baker and Brock Caufield put up a goal and two assists each in Wisconsin's 4-1 win in the first game of the series. Baker was named the Big Ten's Second Star of the Week for his stellar performance. Corson Ceulemans also recorded an assist followed by a goal and two more assists the next night.

4 - FROM THE HISTORY BOOKS: The Badgers and Bulldogs have met 11 times including two matchups in Milwaukee in 1991 and 98. Wisconsin leads 7-2-2 in all-time meetings but their last two contests in 2004 and 2010 resulted in ties.

5 - SPECIAL-TEAMS SPECTACLE: The Badgers power-play and penalty kill units hit their strides against Penn State. Wisconsin notched two power-play goals in each game of the series and was perfect on the penalty kill the entire series.
