Jaskaniec scores in second-straight game, leads UW to third win
LOVES PARK, Illinois. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team earned its second home win of the year, blanking Illinois, 1-0, on Thursday at the Mercyhealth Sportscore Two Complex in Loves Park, Illinois.
Sophomore Emma Jaskaniec found the back of the net for the second-straight game for the Badgers (3-1-0) thanks to an assist from senior Maia Cella. The goal, scored in the 15th minute, was also Jaskaniec's second tally of the season.
Senior Jordyn Bloomer earned her third clean sheet of the season and her third victory of the year, as the senior All-American saved the one Illinois (2-2-0) shot she faced.
Notes to Know:
- All four of Jaskaniec's career goals have been game-winning goals.
- Bloomer earned her 32nd career wins and the 22 shutout of her career.
- UW now leads the all-time series with Illinois with a 12-11-4 record, as the Badgers are now unbeaten in their last eight games against Illinois.
- All three of UW's wins this year have come from 1-0 scorelines.
