Current and past Badgers learn about being a pro
MADISON, Wis. – A total of 13 current and former Wisconsin men's hockey players recently attended 10 different NHL Development Camps following the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
NHL development camps include drafted and undrafted NHL prospects from around the hockey world to learn from their NHL franchises or to ones they were invited in order to get a taste of what it likes to be a professional.
In addition to the 13 Badgers, sophomore forward Quinn Finley and defenseman Zach Schulz are New York Islanders' picks who did not take part in a camp because the Islanders don't run one.
Schulz and freshman defenseman Logan Hensler will also take part in the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase, scheduled for July 26 through Aug. 3 in Plymouth, Michigan. The Showcase is used to identify potential skaters for Team USA's representative at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa, Ontario. The event runs Dec. 26 through Jan. 5.
Players from from Canada, Finland and Sweden will also be in attendance.
