LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The Wisconsin women's soccer team was the first team to shutout the UCLA Bruins in Big Ten play with a final score of 0-0 tonight, Sept. 26.
How it Happened
First Half
Possession remained equal through the first half.
The Badgers defense remained organized holding the Bruins to only two-shots-on goal.Ā
Drew Stover guarded the net with a diving save in the 40th minute. Ā Ā
With the Badgers' defense remaining steady, the game remained tied 0-0 to end the half.Ā
Second Half
UCLA came out of the break with a new strategyĀ and pressed the Badgers' defense. However, they remained strong with everyone guarding the net.
In the 58th minute
Erin Connolly denied a goal with an insane header in the other direction.
Stover remained unmoved throughout the game earning a career-high in saves (5) and her fourth clean sheet of the season.
For the first time in program history the Badgers tied with the Bruins with a final score of 0-0 ending a six game losing streak against UCLA.
