Badgers pounce on Panthers

Late goal by Gulbrandsen puts Badgers ahead

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin women's soccer team concluded its non-conference schedule with a 2-1 win against the Milwaukee Panthers on Thursday evening.

How it Happened

First Half

Aryssa Mahrt wasted no time in the first, getting a shot on goal in the fourth minute before adding another in the seventh.

The Panthers found a gap in the defense to strike in the 11th minute.

However Mahrt equalized the match in the 24th minute, capitalizing on a Ashley Martinez corner.

Only six games in, Mahrt has now surpassed her goal total from the 2023 season with six goals this year.

Heading into the locker room, Wisconsin overpowered Milwaukee on shots (10-1), shots-on-goal (5-1), and corners (6-1).

Second Half

The Badgers continued to battle with the Panthers early in the second half.

Midway through, the team had two corners and a shot-on-goal courtesy of Martinez.
