Road win marks UW’s ninth regular-season triumph over a top-10 opponent
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Wisconsin women's soccer took down No. 8 Penn State with a 2-1 upset victory Sunday afternoon.
How it Happened
First Half
Wisconsin settled in after an early Penn State goal in the 7th minute and quickly shifted the momentum answering back in the 29th minute when Erin Connolly found the equalizer with an assist from Delaney Cox.
Second Half
The Badgers kept their foot on the gas and took the lead in the 50th minute when Connolly sent her second of the day into the back of the net off an assist from Ella Ottey.
UW made the most of their chances, converting both shots on goal into scores. The Badgers also held the edge in corner kicks (6-5).
With today's victory, the team has achieved nine regular-season wins against top-10 ranked opponents in program history.

UW will return home to host the No. 12 Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday, Sept. 25 with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT). The match can be streamed on B1G+.

Second Half
The Badgers kept their foot on the gas and took the lead in the 50th minute when Connolly sent her second of the day into the back of the net off an assist from Ella Ottey.
