The Wisconsin men's and women's swimming and diving teams call the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center home — a first-class, Olympic-level training and competition facility — and part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's state-of-the-art Nicholas Recreation Center ("The Nick"). Team locker rooms, lounge and training facilities are located just steps away in LaBahn Arena, located adjacent to the new aquatic center.
Soderholm Family Aquatic Center
The Soderholm Family Aquatic Center was constructed in 2018-20 and part of an impressive $96 million project that replaced the outdated Southeast Recreational Facility (SERF) with the new 170,000-square foot Nicholas Recreation Center. With seating for 1,200 spectators and videoboard, the new aquatic center brings together the Badgers' swimming and diving practice and competition facilities into one high-performance location.
The new facility features a 50-meter pool, which is convertible to two 25-yard pools, as well as a 25-yard diving well below a full diving tower. The Badgers will have easy access to the new facility, with an enclosed walkway connecting the Nicholas Recreation Center to the team’s locker rooms and lounge in the adjacent LaBahn Arena.
LaBahn Arena
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams also call LaBahn Arena home, with their team lounge, locker rooms and physical therapy amenities are all housed on the second level of the facility.
The team lounge is complete with study areas, flat screen TVs, plush couches and chairs and an incredible view of downtown Madison.
Located adjacent to the aquatics center, LaBahn Arena also boasts a state-of-the-art athletic training area and two large pools for physical therapy.
