Spirit Squad - UW Cheerleaders Basketball Season
During the winter sports season, the UW Cheer team plays an important role in Men's and Women's Basketball. The Badgers are proud to call the Kohl Center their home and are more than happy to lead Badger fans in Big Red spirit and pride.
The Coed and All-Girl teams cheer on both Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball teams. From half time routines to the Bucky Pyramid, the squad hypes up the crowd in hopes to lead the team to a Badger victory!
Bringing the players on the court, the WISCONSIN flags are waved and the cheerleaders lead the Kohl Center in "On Wisconsin." Starting with the National Anthem, the Badgers stand proud before the excitement of starting line-up. The team then leads the arena in "Hot Time" as the crowd awaits the tip off.
With the use of megaphones and signs, the team leads the crowd during play to cheer on the Badgers. Time outs and half time are opportunities for the team to perform routines and stunts as the crowd backs the Badgers to victory!
Postseason play by our basketball teams allows us to carry our Badger spirit wherever they may go. Every year allows us to follow the team to the Big Ten tournament and, hopefully, to the NCAA tournament. The Badger spirit has spread across the nation, and in a single trip to the Kohl Center, you'll understand why!
