Andy Baggot has been with Wisconsin Athletics office since 2015, providing coverage of the Badgers’ 23 teams for UWBadgers.com and
Varsity Magazine.
A recognizable name for sports fans in Wisconsin, Baggot spent the previous 37 years writing for the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison and building a reputation as a gifted storyteller.
In his latest role, Baggot serves as UWBadgers.com Insider and provides written coverage while also adding to the department’s growing video and new media efforts in an on-camera role. He can be found on Twitter at @AndyBaggot.
A Tomah, Wisconsin, native, Baggot began his career as a sports reporter for the Wisconsin State Journal in August 1978. During his time with the newspaper he covered Wisconsin athletics, specifically football and men’s hockey, while also writing about athletics administration and pieces that touched on all of the department’s 23 sports.
In addition to covering UW, Baggot also handled beat reporting for the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers during his career.
Baggot and his wife, Holly, reside in Middleton with their daughter, Jordan.
