2024 NCAA Cross Country Championship

Date: Saturday, Nov. 23
Times: Women's Race - 9:20 a.m.
Men's Race - 10:10 a.m. 

The University of Wisconsin will host four cross country meets at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course during the 2024 season, including the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 23. 

Wisconsin opens the season hosting the Badger Classic on Friday, Sept. 6.  UW will host the 2024 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour on Friday, Sept. 27 before hosting the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 19. 

2024 Badger Classic

Wisconsin will open its 2024 season with the Badger Classic on Friday, Sept. 6. The women will race in a 6K at 4 p.m. with a men's 8K to follow at 4:40 p.m. The meet will feature a maximum of 10 teams per gender. Anyone interested in competing can email Aaron Watson at aaw@athletics.wisc.edu. 

A limited number of open, club and unattached entries will be accepted to enhance the the field for the Badger Classic. Interested individuals must email Aaron Watson (aaw@athletics.wisc.edu) to request entry by Tuesday, September 3. Please include your name, event, affiliation and link to recent results indicating fitness from 2023 or 2024. Approved athletes will be sent an email with further entry instructions. 

Parking is free on site. 

2024 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour

For over 15 years, the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour has established itself as one of the nation's premier collegiate meets. This year's event is set for Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. 

This year's Nuttycombe meet will consist of two races per gender. The women's "B" race will take place at 11 a.m. with the men's "B" race to follow at 11:40 a.m. The women's "A" race will begin at 12:20 p.m. and the men's "A" race starts at 1 p.m.

2024 Wisconsin Pre-Nationals

TThe 2024 Wisconsin Pre-Nationals - scheduled for Saturday, October 19 - serves as a precursor to the 2024 NCAA Cross Country National Championships.  To date we have received commitments from 84 women’s teams and 74 men’s teams. 

This year’s Pre-Nationals will include three races per gender. 

The “A” race will consist of 32 teams that will be selected based on the most recent USTFCCCA National and Regional Rankings. The “B” race will consist of the next 32 teams based on the USTFCCCA Rankings. Teams will be permitted up to eight athletes in the “A” or “B” races.

In addition to the “A” and “B” races we will run one “Open” race per gender (eight athletes per team) for all teams not selected in the A and B races. Teams selected for the A and B races may run an additional three athletes in this Open race.

Parking and shuttle passes for the meet can be purchased here. All spectators are encouraged to purchase parking in advance. 

2024 NCAA Cross Country Championship

The Badgers will host the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 23, marking the second time UW has hosted the meet at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. Learn more about the meet here
