Tim Rosenfeld is in his 20th season as associate head coach of the Wisconsin women’s soccer program. Since joining the Badgers in 2007, Rosenfeld has played an integral role in the development of Wisconsin’s goalkeepers and the continued success of the program.
Rosenfeld has helped Wisconsin claim four Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year honors and has worked with some of the top goalkeepers in program history, including Jordyn Bloomer, Genevieve Richard, Michele Dalton and Caitlyn Clem. He was named the 2014 NSCAA Great Lakes Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
In 2025, Rosenfeld helped guide the Badgers to a 14-6-2 overall record and a 6-3-2 mark in Big Ten play. Wisconsin advanced to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals and earned an NCAA Tournament berth, defeating Western Michigan in the opening round before falling to Baylor in the second round. Goalkeeper Drew Stover recorded 10 shutouts during the season, while earning third-team All-Big Ten honors.
Rosenfeld also helped develop Erin McKinney, who started all 22 matches for Wisconsin in 2023. McKinney earned three Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honors while posting a 0.68 goals-against average, an .805 save percentage and 10 shutouts. Following her Wisconsin career, McKinney signed with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League.
In 2021, Jordyn Bloomer started all 22 matches and ranked second in the Big Ten with nine shutouts and fourth with a 0.73 goals-against average. Bloomer was selected 26th overall by Racing Louisville FC in the 2022 NWSL Draft.
Bloomer enjoyed one of the most decorated careers by a goalkeeper in Wisconsin history under Rosenfeld's guidance. In 2020, she earned her second consecutive Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year award and was named a second-team All-American. In 2019, she became the second goalkeeper in program history to earn first-team All-America honors while also being named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year. Bloomer helped lead Wisconsin to the 2019 Big Ten regular-season championship and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
Rosenfeld also played a key role in the development of Genevieve Richard, who was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year in 2014, and Michele Dalton, who earned Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2011. His work with Wisconsin’s goalkeepers has helped establish a tradition of excellence at the position within the Badger program.
In addition to his work with goalkeepers, Rosenfeld has contributed to the overall success of the program through recruiting, scheduling, travel and youth camps. His tenure has included some of the most successful seasons in Wisconsin women’s soccer history, including the 2014 Big Ten Tournament championship, the 2015 Big Ten regular-season championship and multiple NCAA Sweet 16 appearances.
Before joining Wisconsin, Rosenfeld spent six seasons at Penn State, serving as an assistant coach with the women’s program from 2001-06. He also spent the 1996 season as an assistant coach with the Penn State men’s soccer program. During his time with the Nittany Lions, Rosenfeld worked with several accomplished goalkeepers, including Canadian national team goalkeeper Erin McLeod and U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher.
Rosenfeld also served as the head women’s soccer coach at St. Francis (Pa.) from 1998-2000 and coached at the Canadian Soccer Academy and his alma mater, the University of Toronto.
A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Rosenfeld earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Toronto in 1994. As a collegiate goalkeeper, he captained the team as a senior and was a member of the provincial and national team programs from 1986-90. Following college, he played professionally for 10 seasons in the Canadian Soccer League. He holds a Canadian Soccer Association B coaching license.
Rosenfeld and his wife, Tracey, have two daughters, Jaime and Jordan.
