Darius Hicks was added as the Badgers' Director of Scouting and Player Personnel in March 2026.
Hicks, who most recently led Michigan State’s scouting efforts, joins the Badgers staff to work alongside Director of Recruiting, Pat Lambert. Hicks spent three seasons at Michigan State, playing a key role in developing the Spartans’ infrastructure for roster building and transfer portal strategy. Hicks was heavily involved in NIL and contract management, working closely with student-athletes, agents and department personnel on deal execution.
Prior to working in personnel and scouting roles, Hicks built a strong foundation as a defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator with stops at Morningside University, Southeastern Missouri State and Emporia State. He also served as a defensive analyst at Michigan State before pivoting into his front office role.
During his coaching career, Hicks won two NAIA national championships and 10 conference titles over an 11-year span. Hicks’ transition into a front office role provided an opportunity to combine his coaching background with a broader impact on roster construction and program strategy. He continues to emerge as a rising talent in the college football personnel space.
