Julia Ford enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Wisconsin women’s basketball program, bringing seven years of collegiate coaching experience and a strong background in player development, international competition, and program building.
Ford most recently served as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon University (2025–26), where she helped guide the Lopes to a strong finish, winning four of their final six regular-season games and advancing to the Mountain West Tournament quarterfinals.
Prior to GCU, Ford spent two seasons at Missouri under head coach Robin Pingeton. During her time with the Tigers, she helped develop several standout performers, including Grace Slaughter, who earned SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors while significantly improving her three-point shooting. Ford also contributed to the growth of Ashton Judd and multiple All-SEC Freshman Team selections, while assisting in the defensive development of Mama Dembele, an All-SEC Defensive Team honoree.
In 2025, Ford gained international head coaching experience as the leader of Team USA’s Women’s 3x3 U19 Nations League team, guiding the squad to a FIBA Women’s AmeriCup title in Chile with a 14–2 record.
Her collegiate coaching career also includes stops at Coastal Carolina (2022–23), where she helped develop two All-Sun Belt honorees, and Clemson (2020–22), where she served as a graduate assistant focusing on player development, film study, and student-athlete growth.
Ford also brings experience with USA Basketball, working with elite athletes and coaches across multiple summers in training and preparation environments.
A former collegiate player, Ford competed at Bentley University under Hall of Fame head coach Barbara Stevens.
