Kenneth Mayer

Kenneth R. Mayer is Professor of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, faculty affiliate at the La Follette School of Public Affairs, and Epstein Faculty Fellow in the College of Letters and Science.

His research interests are the American Presidency, campaign finance, and election administration.

He was the director of the Data and Computation Center from 1996-2003, and chaired the Education/Social and Behavioral Sciences IRB from 2012-2014. He was the inaugural Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Political Science at the Australian National University (Canberra, ACT) in 2006; he received the UW System's 2006 Alliant Underkofler Excellence in Teaching Award in the same year.

He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University, and a B.A. from the University of California-San Diego. Prior to arriving in Madison in 1989, he was a consultant for the Washington, DC offices of the RAND Corporation.
