Dr. Lauren Bishop is an Associate Professor in the Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and serves as the university’s Faculty Athletics Representative to the Big Ten and NCAA. A collegiate rower at Duke University, Dr. Bishop leads a nationally recognized, National Institutes of Health-funded research program focused on aging, health, and disparities among autistic adults and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She directs the Bishop Lab at the Waisman Center and is affiliated with multiple interdisciplinary research centers across campus. Her work has been featured in major national media outlets and published in leading scientific journals. Dr. Bishop is the recipient of several honors, including the Deborah K. Padgett Early Career Achievement Award and University of Wisconsin-Madison Vilas and Romnes faculty fellowships.
