Nate Jelinek

Nate Jelinek joined Wisconsin Athletics as the Football Communications Coordinator in the fall of 2022 before being named Assistant Director of Brand Communications in 2023. Jelinek serves as the Badgers' day-to-day contact for football and contributes to the storytelling, record-keeping and media relations efforts for Wisconsin football. 

During a busy two seasons of Badger football, Jelinek helped the brand management team position the roll-out of head coach Luke Fickell during the fall of 2022. With a new regime in place to begin the 2023 season, Jelinek and Wisconsin's external staff worked to shed light on the new era of Wisconsin football.

Jelinek previously worked at DePaul as the assistant director of video operations and social strategy (2022) and as a graduate assistant (2020-2022) with the Blue Demons. Jelinek managed DePaul’s social presence, created content and led video broadcast efforts during his time in Chicago. He graduated with a M.A. in public relations and advertising in June 2022.

Jelinek completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri in 2020. He earned his B.A. in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communications and a business minor. While at Mizzou, he spent four years working in the Tigers' strategic communications office as an intern. Jelinek managed the strategic communications efforts for Mizzou track & field and cross country during the 2019-20 school year.

During his four years of undergrad, Jelinek spent two summers as the public relations intern with the Madison Mallards (2017-18) and spent the 2019 summer as a training camp communications intern with the Indianapolis Colts.

Jelinek, a Lodi, Wis., native, currently lives in Middleton with his wife, Hallie.
