Men's Swimmers Can't Rise Past Arizona, ASU

The Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team fell to Arizona and Arizona State at the Arizona Triangular Friday in Tucson, Ariz. UA topped UW, 149-129, and ASU defeated UW 170-120, dropping the Badgers to 2-2 on the year.
Against Arizona, UW picked up ten wins in 16 events, but only eight Badgers finished second or third, as Wisconsin couldn't top the Wildcats. Against ASU, UW garnered six wins in 16 events.
Sophomore Dale Rogers (Oroville, Calif.) and senior Brendan Coyne (Pelham, Ala.) combined for six of UW's wins against AU. Rogers touched first in the 50 (:20.79) and 100 (:45.31) free, while Coyne finished first in the 100 back (:50.63) and 100 fly (:49.03).
Rogers and Coyne were also members of the winning 200 medley (1:29.49) and 200 free (1:22.29) relays, which finished first versus UA and ASU. Coyne 's performance in the 100 fly and Rogers' swim in the 100 free were also top times against ASU.
The Badgers play host to the Northwestern Wildcats Nov. 8 at the UW Natatorium at 5 p.m. The dual meet is the second of only three home meets this year for Wisconsin.
