Men's Swimmers Tame Wildcats

The Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team defeated the Northwestern Wildcats, 159-128, in Evanston, Ill., Friday evening. The Badgers (5-1, 2-0 Big Ten) won their second Big Ten meet of the season, winning 9 out of 16 events.
Sophomore Adam Mania won two individual events on the night, winning the 200-yard backstroke (1:49.65) and 100 back (49.51). Mania was also a member of the first-place 400 free relay.
Also aiding UW to victory was Matt Marshall, who along with Mania, was the Badgers' other double-individual winner. Marshall picked up wins in the 100 fly and 50 free. He was also a member of the winning 400 medley relay.
In diving, Wisconsin freshman Matt Smith took second on both the one-meter and three-meter boards.
With the win, the Badgers remain undefeated in Big Ten competition this season. Bucky's next meet will be at the Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. on Friday, Nov. 22.
