Women's Swimmers Sink Wildcats

The Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team swam successfully against Northwestern, winning 172-125, Friday in Evanston, Ill. Bucky (5-1, 2-0 Big Ten) won 10 out of 16 events.
Leading the way for the Badgers were senior Sarah McCauley and sophomore Carly Piper. McCauley won the 100 back (:56.07), the 200 back (2:00.23), and was the leadoff member of the first-place 400 medley relay team (3:49.94) and 400 free relay (3:25.30).
Also a member of the 400 free relay, Piper added three victories of her own taking the 1000 free (9:59.83), 500 free (4:49.66) and the 200 free (1:50.34). Swimmers Jenny Lyman and Emily Pisula also took victories in the 100 free (51.45) and the 200 IM (2:05.47), respectively.
Senior diver Sara Wiezorek took second on the one-meter board, while frosh Megan Balkenbush took the same place on the three-meter board.
The Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team will travel next to Minneapolis, Minn., Friday, Nov. 22 to swim in the Minnesota Invitational.
